Pump stations are used to pump the raw sewage, treated effluent or storm water to a higher level (called a rising main) to its main drainage system.
Pumps are also used to discharge waste or treated water to ditches, soakaways etc. on flat or higher ground.
This type of installation requires inspecting on a regular basis - the floats and blades require cleaning regularly too.
